Job summary

Loudoun Water has an immediate opening for an Industrial Pretreatment Technician at the Broad Run Water Reclamation Facility (BRWRF).

The purpose of the pretreatment team is to protect POTW infrastructure from damage or disruptions caused by industrial wastewater, prevent pass-through of pollutants that cannot be treated, reduce hazardous pollutants at the source to safeguard staff and the environment from discharges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• VA Wastewater licenses encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Inspect grease control devices, sedimentation tanks and pretreatment systems at facilities.
• Collect wastewater samples following procedures and QA practices.
• Maintain detailed inspection documentation and sampling records.
• Verify compliance with local, state and federal regulations and agreements.
• Assist Pretreatment Coordinators with fieldwork, data review and follow-up.
• Collaborate with Loudoun Water staff and other departments.
• Calibrate and maintain environmental monitoring equipment.
• Communicate findings professionally with facility representatives and staff.
