Job summary

AbbVie in Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (Plumber/Pipefitter) to inspect, troubleshoot and maintain piping and plumbing systems in an industrial setting. The role runs Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and requires an Illinois Plumber's license.

You will perform installation and repair of plumbing, backflow testing, and sprinkler work, train junior technicians, follow GMP and safety policies, and contribute to reliable plant operations at AbbVie.

Qualifications

• Illinois Plumber's license is required.
• Backflow tester certification preferred.
• Ability to use basic power tools and proper hand and measuring tools in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work in an industrial/commercial setting, including new construction plumbing installation and sprinkler and backflow inspection.
• Testing, inspecting, and replacing piping and pressure relief devices on production and facility equipment.
• Communicate with customers to identify maintenance problems and evaluate damage/malfunction.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues quickly to maintain time schedules and ensure functionality of equipment.
• Provide training to less experienced technicians to ensure efficient and cost-effective work.
• Follow GMP and safety policies and procedures, adhering to company policies.
