Job summary

Qualifications

• HS/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred in electrical engineering, automation or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Proven experience as PLC Programmer or similar role.
• Proficiency in PLCs from leading manufacturers (e.g., Allen-Bradley).
• Strong knowledge of PLC languages: ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams.
• Experience with PLC hardware selection, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols.
• Knowledge of HMI software (Wonderware, FactoryTalk) and SCADA is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, or other languages to control machinery and processes.
• Configure PLC hardware, select models, I/O modules and interfaces.
• Design and implement HMI screens for monitoring and control.
• Test PLC programs for functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot PLC-based systems including electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
• Document programs, wiring diagrams, and configurations.
• Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel.
• Stay updated with PLC technology and automation best practices.
