Job summary

Environmental Air Systems in Raleigh, NC seeks an experienced pipefitter to install industrial piping systems including chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, and condensate lines, and to read blueprints and submittals.

The role requires independent work, problem solving, safety compliance, and the ability to supervise helpers; candidate should own appropriate pipefitting tools and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
• Rigging knowledge preferred.
• 5 years pipefitter experience preferred.
• Knowledge of pipefitter equipment, power tools, and fabrication methods.
• Knowledge of different types of pipe, valves, fittings, and their functions.
• General knowledge of code requirements and limitations.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards, including ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install industrial piping systems: chill water, hot water, steam, condensate, and condensate water.
• Read blueprints and submittals.
• Fabricate pipe supports and spool copper lines.
• Work independently and problem solve.
• Repair, cap, and test all types of plumbing piping.
• Instruct plumbing helpers under your supervision.
• Practice all safety procedures.
• Hold license to operate equipment necessary for the role.
