Job summary
Turner Industries in Decatur, AL seeks a skilled pipefitter to layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems for industrial processes. The role requires reading field drawings, using tape measures and framing squares, and operating power tools. You will work under the Foreman, meet safety policies, and contribute to reliable plant operation through precise welds and fittings. This is a non-exempt, maintenance position.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; 1–4 years of pipefitter experience preferred.
Ability to read field drawings and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of connecting flanged pipe using cross-pattern bolting.
Able to read a tape measure and use a framing square.
Must operate power tools safely and perform weld fit ups as required.
Responsibilities
Plan installation sequences, inspect worksites, and avoid obstructions.
Cut, thread, bend pipe and assemble metal/nonmetal fittings.
Join pipes using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
Test piping systems for leaks and ensure compliance with safety rules.
Maintain refrigeration and air‑conditioning piping and controls as needed.
