Job summary

Domtar in Nekoosa, Wisconsin is seeking a Pipefitter Apprentice for a full-time permanent role. You will assist journeymen with maintenance, repairs and safe operation of mill machinery, reading instructions, and planning safe activities.

You may read blueprints and assist in locating equipment malfunctions while supporting a team of skilled tradespeople. Qualified applicants typically hold an Industrial Mechanical Technician associate degree or equivalent core education, pass a respirator fit

Qualifications

  • Industrial Mechanical Technician associate degree or equivalent core education including post-high school math/physics/blueprint reading.
  • Pass a respirator fit test and maintain safety standards.
  • Hold a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
  • Meet test standards with good safety and attendance records.
  • Experience working with hazardous materials and PPE.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Able to lift 50–100 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety practices and procedures.
  • Assist in reading instructions and plan safe work activities.
  • Assist journeyman with mechanical repairs and maintenance.
  • Aid in locating and repairing malfunctions of mill equipment.
  • Maintain power generating equipment and assist other crews.
  • Collaborate with teams and lead persons as required.
  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
