Job summary

PPM in Hopewell, VA is seeking a Pipe Welder to perform welding, lay out, fabricate, assemble and maintain piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The role requires the ability to read blueprints and hydraulic diagrams, use a complete set of industrial pipe fitting/welding tools, and work in confined spaces and at heights.

Safety gear such as steel toe shoes is required.

Qualifications

• Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (verbal and written).
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Have a complete set of tools appropriate for industrial pipe fitting/welding.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass pipe coupon weld test.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, lay out, fabricate, assemble and maintain piping systems and supports.
• Work with piping fixtures and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components as required.
