Job summary

Crowder Construction Co in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder to join our field team. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of verifiable pipe welding experience, strong blueprint reading, and the ability to work safely in industrial construction environments using stick, TIG, and flux-core processes.

You will weld carbon and stainless pipe, set up argon purge, coordinate with QC/QA, and maintain quality and productivity on multi-state projects across the Southeast.

Qualifications

• 4 years of verifiable pipe welding experience in industrial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
• Familiarity with 6G or stationary pipe welding positions preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and fire watch responsibilities.
• Experience with SMAW, TIG, and flux-core welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Weld carbon and stainless pipe to project specs.
• Set up welding current, select rods, and maintain weld quality.
• Coordinate with QC/QA on non-destructive examination requirements.
• Ensure safety procedures and permits are followed on site.
• Maintain tools, organize work area, and adhere to project schedules.
