Job summary

Paragon Technologies, a SunSource company, seeks a Painter/Warehouse in Warren, MI to apply industrial finishes and manage related warehouse tasks. Responsibilities include operating a paint sprayer and blast cabinet, surface preparation, and coordinating large painting projects with safety and quality in mind.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to read safety rules, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Monday–Friday schedule with possible overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English; follow safety rules.
• Ability to apply paint to surfaces using spray, brush or roller.

Responsibilities

• Mixes, matches and applies paints such as epoxy, enamel, varnish, shellac, lacquers, thinners, solutions or rustproofing agents to surfaces according to specifications.
• Operates a blast cabinet, cleans, scrapes, sands, primes and/or seals surfaces prior to painting to ensure proper adherence.
• Tapes off areas when needed.
• Applies touchups or additional coats when needed.
• Checks paint mils for proper coating thickness during the painting process.
• Paints by hand as required; monitors drying for desired results.
• Finishes coated surfaces by polishing with sandpaper or finishing materials.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area; handles safety equipment.
• Maintains inventory of painting supplies and requisitions materials as needed.
• Assists with packaging of skids/equipment for shipping.
• Communicates professionally with coworkers, management, customers.
• Duties will include warehouse responsibilities: shipping, receiving and inventory duties.
