Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and follow safety guidelines (SDS, blueprints, paint specifications).
• Experience with painting processes and ability to mix/thin paints as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments and instructions from supervisor.
• Prepares units for painting by cleaning, sanding surfaces, and masking as needed.
• Mixes and thins paints to correct mixture and viscosity for spraying/hand painting.
• Adjusts and maintains equipment to achieve finish requirements and efficiency.
• Moves units using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, hoists or cranes to the painting area.
• Removes and replaces panels on sheet metal enclosures as needed for painting.
• Maintains area and equipment in a safe, clean condition and good working order.
• Changes filters in booths and disposes of waste properly.
• Supports supervisor in orientation and training of others.
• Complies with safety policies and participates in zero-harm safety initiatives.
