Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation in partnership with JLG seeks a paint technician to apply primer, paint, and touch-up coatings on heavy equipment, using spray equipment and brushes. You will prep surfaces, maintain painting equipment, and ensure quality by performing inspections and color-matching as needed.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment; experience with respiratory protection and overtime flexibility are required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of painting experience in automotive, industrial, or heavy equipment settings.
• Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
• Able to wear a respirator and pass a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
• Willingness to work overtime including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Apply primer, paint, and touch-up coatings using spray equipment and brushes.
• Mask and unmask parts to meet specifications.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, washing, and conditioning; perform light bodywork if needed.
• Disassemble, clean, and maintain painting equipment (pumps, heaters, tanks, guns, etc.).
• Flush tanks and lines during color changes; mix paints for color accuracy and viscosity.
• Inspect work before, during, and after painting to ensure quality standards.
