Job summary

Freeman Enclosure Systems in Batavia, Ohio seeks an experienced Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team. The role involves preparing metal surfaces and applying paints and protective coatings to large equipment and enclosure components.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with surface preparation, spray painting, and operating spray guns, pressure pots, and compressed air systems, while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of industrial painting experience.
• Experience with surface preparation and industrial spray painting.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial shop.
• Experience operating spray guns, pressure pots and compressed air systems.
• Experience with industrial paints, primers, solvents and coatings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and priming.
• Ensure surfaces are clean and free of dirt, oil, grease, rust, dust and contaminants before painting.
• Apply paint and protective coatings to large equipment and enclosure components.
• Operate spray guns, pressure pots, compressed air systems and other painting equipment.
• Apply paint evenly and prevent runs, streaks, drips, overspray and defects.
• Inspect painted surfaces to meet company quality standards.
• Mix and handle paints, solvents, primers and coatings as per procedures.
• Clean and maintain spray guns, pressure pots, hoses and equipment.
• Store, handle and dispose of paint products and hazardous materials safely.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Communicate production, quality and safety concerns with supervisors.
