Job summary

Skilled Trades Partners is seeking a Painter / Loader to prepare, coat, and load structural steel and fabricated materials. You will follow SSPC specs, mix paints, mask areas, and ensure proper cure times while maintaining safety and quality.

You will also record application data, inspect finished work, and help coordinate shipments. This role offers full benefits and weekly pay in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial painting or coating applications preferred.
• Ability to read fabrication and erection drawings.
• Ability to interpret SDS and technical paint data sheets.
• Experience operating airless spray equipment.
• Experience with abrasive blasting equipment preferred.
• Ability to measure wet and dry film thickness with a gauge.
• Comfortable using tape measures and shop tools.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Experience operating forklifts or cranes is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix paints and solvents per specifications.
• Paint materials to meet SSPC specs and project requirements.
• Mask and protect designated no-paint areas.
• Ensure proper cure times between coats.
• Monitor environmental conditions (temp, humidity, dew point).
• Maintain detailed paint records (mix times, activation times).
• Perform quality inspections and address discrepancies.
• Organize outgoing shipments with Shipping Coordinator.
• Load and stack materials safely onto trailers.
• Maintain paint inventory and supplies.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
