Job summary

Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter Craftsman to prepare surfaces via abrasive methods and apply coatings to piping, equipment, structures, tanks, and vessels for protection and cosmetic purposes.

The role requires reading blueprints, understanding paint types, following safety rules, and maintaining tools. You will work at heights, perform QC, and support other crafts as needed in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, or building plans.
• Must possess all Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for position - see below.
• Must be willing to assist other crafts while not actively working on a painting project.
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must be willing to follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must have all required tools.
• Must be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job site.
• Must meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job site.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Rig, troubleshoot, and operate blasting equipment.
• Apply coatings by means of spray, brush and roll, and trowel application.
• Identify and mix paint and coatings as required.
• Know the proper use and techniques for the paint/coating used.
• Perform daily Quality Control (QC) reports to ensure coatings are applied properly.
• Operate at heights safely with fall protection.
• Clean up work areas.
