The Industrial Painter – Automated Machines at SDC will primarily be responsible for all industrial painting tasks for our automated machines such as large frames, weldments, electrical cabinets and manufactured parts. Also operating company vehicle with possible additional manufacturing operations responsibilities. This position reports to our Manufacturing Operations Manager and will work with our plant operations team.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces using spray guns, brushes, rollers, and other equipment.
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality and make touch-ups and adjustments as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines.
• Maintain painting equipment and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Follow safety protocols and use job appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Drive company vehicle and trailer, as needed. (subject to MVR background check)
• Assist the manufacturing team with shop operations, as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

• Automotive painting experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as an industrial painter in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of various painting techniques and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
• Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
