Job Description

We are seeking an Industrial Painter to join our federal team at our York, PA location. We design, develop, and manufacture chilled water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels worldwide. The role involves spraying and finishing paint on parts, including complex, engineered product units, systems, and data plates.

Johnson Controls supports critical facilities and the missions they enable. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) modernizes military and federal facilities to be smarter, resilient, and secure.

Pay and Shift
  • Pay: $28.02/hour plus $0.70/hour 2nd Shift Differential
  • Shift: 2nd Shift (3pm - 11:30pm)

Position Details
  • This is a Union position
Responsibilities
  • Paint in booths, on floors, or products using ladders and scaffolds, indoors or outdoors.
  • Work from drawings, customer orders, process sheets, and specifications.
  • Prepare surfaces, mask, and clean as required.
  • Mix paints, measure, add epoxy powders, and thin as needed.
  • Erect shelters, spray primers, enamels, epoxies, and protective coatings.
  • Inspect for coverage issues, touch up, and check paint thickness.
  • Maintain spray equipment and tools.
Qualifications
  • 1-2+ years of industrial or automotive painting experience.
  • Physical ability to handle materials and operate equipment safely.
  • Ability to work in conditions with paint fumes, dust, and rust.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with MIL-Specs.
Education
  • Basic math skills, reading, writing, and understanding process sheets.
