Job summary

WesTech Engineering in West Jordan, UT, is seeking an Industrial Painter to join our drives manufacturing facility. The role involves applying coatings, maintaining booths, and coordinating with machining teams to ensure timely delivery.

Candidates should have coatings experience and be able to pass safety screenings. The ideal applicant will be meticulous, punctual, and capable of operating forklifts and overhead cranes, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality control in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in industrial coatings.
• Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe handling.
• Must meet driving eligibility criteria with MVR checks.
• Must be able to pass pulmonary function test to wear respirator.
• Able to operate forklift/lift truck.
• Able to operate an overhead crane.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Meticulous and detail oriented.
• Must arrive on time every day.

Responsibilities

• Apply coatings as specified on OEM equipment.
• Track inventory of paint, tapes, and related supplies.
• Schedule sandblasting to meet painting and delivery dates.
• Maintain booths and ensure safe operation of the painting area.
• Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment.
• Coordinate with machining and fabrication to avoid delays.
• Work with inspectors to confirm specifications are met.
• Operate testing equipment (profile gauge, mil test gauge, humidity gauge).
• Complete coating reports and document work performed.
• Interact with customers as needed.

Summary

We have an immediate need for a full-time Industrial Painter at our drives manufacturing facility in West Jordan, UT. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments.

Some Of The Work You Will Do

• Applying coatings as specified on OEM equipment.
• Tracking inventory of paint, tapes, paper, etc.
• Sandblasting scheduling to ensure painting and delivery dates are met.
• Maintenance of booths, ensuring proper operation creating a safe environment.
• Maintaining and cleaning of painting tools and equipment.
• Work with machining & fabrication departments to identify any scheduling conflicts while adapting to create a smooth work flow.
• Work with in-house and third party inspectors confirming specifications are adhered to.
• Understand and operate testing equipment i.e. profile gauge, mil test gauge, humidity gauge.
• Completing coating reports.
• Working with customers.
• Basic understanding of sandblasting and medias used.

Here Are The Skills That You Need

• One or more years of industrial coatings experience
• Experience or knowledge of the appropriate rigging of equipment
• Ability to meet required driving eligibility criteria, verified through an initial and ongoing Motor Vehicle Record request.
• Ability to pass a PFT (Pulmonary Function Test), as needed, to be certified as able to wear a respirator
• Ability to operate a fork lift/lift truck.
• Ability to operate an overhead crane.
• Ability to work and stay on task with minimal supervision
• Meticulous and detail oriented.
• Expected to arrive on time every day scheduled.

Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart

• Experience applying coatings on multiple types of steel.
• Experience in the application of epoxies, urethanes, and/or zincs.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move about facility, spend long amounts of time working with hands and close vision
• Must be able to lift up to 40-70 lbs.
• Comply with all safety regulations
