Position Title: Industrial Painter
Division: Shop Coatings
Location: Poseyville, Indiana
Reports To:Operations Manager
Position Summary
Provide routine and preventative maintenance painting duties, and paint application for a full range of specialized painting projects including large structures, tractors, trailers, agricultural equipment and industrial pieces.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Prepare items to be painted including all sanding, masking, and repair work
- Remove shop applied protective coatings from equipment by sandblasting, perform field blast cleaning as specified, and remove heavy deposits of grease or oil from surfaces
- Perform a variety of routine and preventative maintenance painting such as high steel and structural painting, sandblasting, and preparation for enamel, epoxy, bitumastic, urethane, and latex painting on a variety of surfaces.
- Maintain safety standards in the performance of duties
- Clean up facilities on a daily basis
- Ensures manager is aware of any issues which can impact customer satisfaction or billing
- Maintains good condition and cleanliness of company vehicles, tools, and equipment, including the return of tools to storage areas
- Ensures all company values are adhered to and promoted through leading by example and creating an environment of trust and teamwork
- Participates in all requested job-related training and development, as well as taking an active interest in improving skills with other training programs
- Follows all company and common sense safety policies, while using all required personal protective equipment
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with operating sandblaster, vapor blaster, and/or airless spray equipment preferred
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment (forklifts, hydraulic lifts, etc)
- Ability to lift 50 - 55 pounds as required without assistance
- Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professionalism in the workplace
- Strong organizational skills
