Job summary

Cascades is seeking an Industrial Packaging Designer for our Piscataway, New Jersey facility to lead the development of custom packaging solutions from concept through production. You will work closely with customers, sales, manufacturing, and technical teams to transform ideas into practical, cost-effective designs that deliver value and customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will design paper-based packaging using ArtiosCAD, create prototypes, and ensure manufacturability and cost objectives

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, Packaging Design, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience designing packaging solutions in corrugated, folding carton, paperboard, or paper-based packaging environment.
• Proficiency with ArtiosCAD is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative paper-based packaging concepts from concept through commercialization.
• Create prototypes, samples, and mock-ups to evaluate package fit, function, durability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with customers, sales representatives, operations teams, and production personnel to gather requirements and ensure successful project execution.
• Troubleshoot design and production challenges, proposing improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and performance.

Your Role

As Industrial Packaging Designer , you’ll take on real challenges that bring out your full potential.Your scope includes:

• Design and develop innovative paper-based packaging solutions from concept through commercialization using ArtiosCAD and related design tools.
• Create structural packaging designs that meet customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, performance expectations, and cost objectives.
• Develop prototypes, samples, and mock-ups to evaluate package fit, function, durability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with customers, sales representatives, operations teams, and production personnel to gather requirements and ensure successful project execution.
• Conduct technical reviews and participate in customer presentations to communicate design concepts and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot design and production challenges, recommending improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and performance.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining timelines and delivering exceptional customer service.

What you bring

You're a natural fit for Packaging Designer if you have:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, Packaging Design, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience designing packaging solutions, preferably within a corrugated, folding carton, paperboard, or paper-based packaging environment.
• Proficiency with ArtiosCAD is required.
• Strong understanding of packaging design principles, manufacturing processes, and material capabilities.
• Experience creating prototypes, samples, and production-ready design files.
• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
