Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking an Operations Associate to join a team responsible for daily monitoring and processing of materials to maximize value for customers.

Role involves operating bailers, forklifts, grinders, and packaging materials for transport, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and physical ability to lift and stand for long periods, with 0–2 years of manufacturing experience often preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; manufacturing experience preferred.
• 0–2 years of manufacturing experience is desirable; able to work in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and legal eligibility to work in the US.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs frequently and 65 lbs several times daily; stand 8 hours.
• Experience with forklift, grinder or box truck is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment (bailers, forklifts, grinders) and sorts materials for recycling.
• Loads finished products onto trailers and ensures safe loading procedures.
• Ensures proper packaging and compliance with transport rules.
• Attends safety trainings, reports incidents, and uses PPE as required.
• Prepares shipping paperwork (BOL, packing lists, manifests) and documents weights.
• Communicates challenges to Operations Supervisor and participates in program improvements.
