Powerwell is seeking an Industrial Operations Manager to lead daily production at our client’s aluminum recycling facility in Sapulpa, OK. The role requires heavy industrial experience, plant scheduling, and shift leadership to optimize safety, quality, and productivity.

The ideal candidate will manage production priorities, mentor supervisors, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while aligning with company goals and KPI targets across safety, inventory, and engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or engineering.
• Minimum five years' experience in manufacturing operations with three years in a managerial role.
• Lean process oriented with a lean certification.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with plant scheduling and heavy industrial environments.
• Knowledge of KPIs: safety, yield, productivity.
• Ability to drive business improvements.
• Lean Green Belt or Lean Black Belt certification.

Candidates must be a United States Citizen or Green Card Holder. Candidates must be able to work at our client’s plant in Sapulpa, OK, which has two furnaces. Candidates must have a heavy industrial background with plant, scheduling, and shift experience.

Our client is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, our client has 16 plants strategically located across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. They convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. They are ideally positioned to respond to the needs of an increasingly recycling-conscious world. Advanced technologies enable them to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a driven and experienced Operations Manager located in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to lead daily production operations at our client’s aluminum recycling facility. This role is responsible for overseeing production, safety, quality, and team leadership to ensure efficient plant performance and continuous improvement.

We are looking for an Operations Manager with industrial environmental experience preferably experience supervising in a heavy industrial setting with knowledge of large mobile equipment, managing operational KPIs and developing employees with best training and performance goals.

• Drive and develop the culture of Safety First.
• Develop and mentor supervisors and team leaders to strengthen leadership capability within the plant.
• Direct plant production operations and establish priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
• Establish, plan, direct, and support production priorities and schedule activities.
• Lead change management initiatives and help drive operational improvements across the facility.
• Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to meet and/or exceed KPIs.
• Development and implementation of improvement action plans for each area of responsibility to ensure year-over-year improvement in critical plant metrics.

The Operations Manager will inspire staff to achieve results in alignment with company and business strategy as well as operational objectives focused on safety, health and environment, quality, productivity, inventory, people development, and employee engagement.

Required Qualifications & Skill Sets:

• Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in business, operations management, engineering.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing operations role with three years managerial experience, preferably heavy industrial.
• Lean process oriented with a lean process background.
• Must be able to drive business in a positive way.
• Ability to manage direct and driven communication.
• Lean Green Belt or Lean Black Belt certification.
• Ability to measure business results, including quantity of KPIs including safety, scrap, yield, and productivity.
• Ability to provide specific project outcomes.
• Ability to manage specifics and provide specifics.
• Ability to explain financial impacts during management.
• Must be urgent and provide ownership.
• Must have a heavy industrial background.
• Need to have plant, scheduling, and shift experience.

Preferred Qualifications & Skill Sets:

• Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools preferred.
• Solid understanding of Change Management tools and concepts preferred.
