Job summary

International Paper Company has an immediate opening for a Class A or AA Mechanic/Electrician at the Houston Container in Houston, MS. The role requires journeyman-level electrical experience and offers pay of $29.72–$33.14 per hour depending on experience and skills.

The candidate will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative tasks, use SAP CMMS to manage work orders, and collaborate with the team to ensure safe, efficient operation. Overtime and weekend shifts are possible.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years industrial maintenance experience.
Two year vocational training in electrical technology preferred.
Knowledge of automated machinery: motors, drives, relays, 3-phase power, sensors.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment promptly.
Perform predictive and preventive maintenance and generate work notifications.
Close work orders in SAP: create orders, perform work, confirm time, enter history.
Collaborate with team to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
Assist plant personnel to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
Follow all safety policies and regulations.
