Amsted Canada Inc. is seeking skilled maintenance personnel to dismantle, assemble and repair general plant equipment including mills, conveyors and crushers. You will diagnose issues, rig and move heavy units, and decide on salvage vs. scrap while coordinating with other crafts.

Experience in welding, cutting and metal fabrication is essential, with the ability to work from blueprints and adapt to various plant areas. This role often requires shifts, overtime, and on-call repairs.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Skills assessment.
• Ability to work shift work and rotating schedules; including daily and weekend overtime and call-outs for repairs.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair general plant equipment (mills, pulverizers, crushers, conveyors, etc.).
• Handle heavy, bulky units in rigging, moving and setting them.
• Decide if salvaging or scrapping equipment/parts is feasible.
• Repair, fabricate or improve metals by welding or cutting.
• Follow blueprints, verbal instructions, or original ideas to perform work.
• Apply skill across plant areas as required.
• Assist other crafts.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, assemble or fabricate general equipment (i.e. mills, pulverizers, conveyors, crushers, rotating equipment with belts, chains, fan housings, blowers, motors, etc.)
• Diagnose and make repairs to such general plant equipment as mills, pulverizers, crushers, conveyors, ect.
• Handle heavy, bulky units, in rigging, moving and setting them.
• Make decisions concerning the feasibility of salvaging or scrapping equipment or parts removed for repair or replacement.
• Repair, fabricate or improve metals by welding or cutting.
• Use blueprints, verbal instructions, or original ideas to perform the work.
• Use his skill in any part of the plant as required.

• Assist other crafts.

Work Environment

• May be required to work at heights and/or in confined spaces.
• May work alone with minimal supervision or with other maintenance crafts
• Work in various areas of the plant, which dependent on the area, environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalency
• Possess a valid drivers license
• Skills assessment and;
• Ability to work shift work and rotating schedules; including daily and weekend overtime and call-outs for repairs and break down situations to limit downtime, preventative maintenance tasks, and root cause analysis
• 4 years of Manufacturing and/or heavy industrial experience working in the skilled trade
