Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced Millwright/Maintenance Technician to install, align, and repair complex machinery across industrial facilities. The role involves rigging, welding, fabrication, and working with precision tools.

You will participate in safety and lean initiatives and support planning, procurement, and scheduling activities within a maintenance team. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED plus an approved millwright apprenticeship and 3+ years of relevant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with an approved millwright apprenticeship.
• Three years of recent industrial or military millwright experience.
• Experience installing, repairing, aligning, and inspecting a broad range of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Experience with brazing and welding (gas, heli-arc, electrical) and rigging, hoists, man-lifts, or fork trucks.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on industrial and utility equipment.
• Dismantle, lay out, move and install machines, equipment, and vessels.
• Repair equipment by replacing bushings, bearings, seals and gaskets; adjust as needed.
• Fabricate parts using welding and plasma cutting; work with various materials.
• Test equipment for pressure leaks; inspect seals, O-rings, gaskets, and faces.
• Assist with labor/material estimates and CMMS entries; coordinate work orders.
• Support supervision in parts, tools, and scheduling decisions.
