Job summary

Gerdau is seeking an experienced Millwright in Monroe, Michigan to install, repair and maintain mechanical equipment across our plant.

The role pays $43.10 per hour and requires 1 year of millwright experience with the Journeyman’s Card or 4 years without, plus a high school diploma or GED and passing all tests. You will inspect equipment, dismantle and reassemble components, operate shop tools, work on cranes and piping systems, and document work in CMMS while upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• 1 year millwright experience with Millwright Journeyman’s Card or 4 years millwright experience without Journeyman's Card.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass all testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection work to be done.
• Inspect plant equipment for defects and determine best repair approach to minimize production interruption.
• Dismantle, repair, install, align and lubricate mechanical equipment; adjust for proper operation.
• Operate machine tools such as drill press, pipe threading machine, power saw, etc.; perform mechanical repairs on cranes.
• Lay out and maintain piping, fittings, fixtures and pressure systems; repair hydraulics and related equipment.
• Document all work in CMMS and complete preventive maintenance reports.
• Follow safety policies, lock out/tag out procedures and departmental rules.
