Job summary

Austin Industrial in Decatur, IL is seeking a Millwright/Civil Carpenter for a per diem position to support planning, execution, and safety in industrial construction projects. Expect duties across blueprint interpretation, equipment alignment, and structural concrete work with emphasis on quality and safety.

The role requires journeyman-level experience (3–5 years) in related crafts, NCCER certifications, and TWIC access.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years journeyman-level experience in millwright, civil carpenter, industrial maintenance or related craft.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to determine work requirements.
• Knowledge of safety standards and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and align industrial equipment and machinery.
• Assist with rigging, moving, positioning, and securing equipment.
• Construct, install, maintain, and repair structures, forms, and related components.
• Inspect and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and related systems.
• Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance projects.
