Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Colorado is seeking an experienced electrical/instrumentation technician to maintain, repair and optimize mill and processing site systems at Climax Molybdenum.

You’ll work under supervision, handle switchgear, wiring, and preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance. Qualifications include a recognized electronics/electrical program or related degree, experience in industrial settings, and ability to read AutoCAD drawings.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation program.
• Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two years of related experience.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD drawings/prints, and electronic prints.
• Must understand safety procedures and SOPs to operate in a mining processing environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain, install, repair and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment at a mill/processing site.
• Perform equipment electrical analysis and advanced troubleshooting.
• Work on switchgear, grounding, LOTOTO procedures, and conduit installations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on motors, instrumentation, and related systems.
• Review, revise and create SOPs for electrical operations.
• Train and mentor other Electrical staff on testing, audits, and safety.
