Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield's C&W Services is hiring an Industrial Mechanical Technician in Wahpeton, ND. The role involves entry-level maintenance work, repairing and maintaining pumps, conveyors, piping, and rotating equipment in a safety-focused environment.

You will work a Mon–Thurs schedule, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, with weekly pay and benefits starting day one. Training is provided to operate in a cutting-edge facility and safety gear is supplied.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of mechanical experience preferred.
  • 1–2 years of education in industrial maintenance technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveyor systems, piping, heat exchangers, and other rotating equipment.
  • Operate hand and power tools and use welding equipment as required.
  • Maintain safety practices and document work activities.
  • Complete administrative duties such as time accounting and work orders.

Job Description
What Will I Be Doing?

Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily:

  • Work in a team‑oriented and safety‑conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include PJHA process, observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveyor systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions, and other power‑driven rotating equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance comply with established standards and may range from supervised to independent tasks.
  • Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards/work procedures and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the responsible supervisor.
  • Use hand tools daily, such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, hydraulic pullers), rigging equipment, and weld with a cutting torch as required.
  • Operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc., using fall protection equipment as necessary.
  • Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth in performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
  • Communicate with all team members to assist the development of short‑ and long‑range planning in assist of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Maintain personal tools required for your job, keeping an up‑to‑date documented personal tool list.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the job, which will be provided prior to employment.
  • Perform assigned tasks safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

  • Experience: 0‑2 years of mechanical experience and/or 1‑2 years of education in industrial maintenance technologies preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as geographic location, date of hire, job type, business line, and collective bargaining agreements. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

Pay range: $21.25–$25.00 per hour.
