Job summary

Meccon Industries Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to lead industrial and heavy industrial mechanical construction projects in the Chicago land area.

You will assist the project manager with daily duties, including estimating, coordination, project accounting, contract administration, submittal & RFI tracking and development. Responsibilities also include assisting in submittals, RFIs, change orders, office coordination, and ensuring construction activities move according to schedule.

Qualifications

• A four-year bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, construction management or equivalent technical/field experience.
• Excellent communication skills in a team environment.
• Good understanding of MEP building systems.
• Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel skills; Primavera 6 scheduling software and AutoCad experience is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of legal issues, safety & quality standards is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in submittals, RFIs and other transmittals.
• Office coordination.
• Assist in change order development.
• Ensure that construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule.
• Assist in subcontractor productivity and tracking.
• Ensure project documents are complete with revisions and changes.
