Job summary

Michigan Sugar Company—Bay City Factory Packaging & Warehouse—is seeking a skilled Mechanic for maintenance and repair of packaging and sugar path equipment. The role follows GMP/SQF guidelines while maintaining quality and boosting production.

You will troubleshoot mechanical repairs, order parts, support supervisors, monitor equipment, and work weekends with overtime during summer maintenance. Prior industrial mechanic experience and PLC/computer navigation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Preferred 3+ years of industrial mechanic work.
• Preferred knowledge of plumbing and compressed air systems.
• Ability to navigate through computers and equipment PLCs to operate machinery.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot mechanical repairs and perform change overs on packaging equipment.
• Order and track all parts from start to finish while working with the maintenance coordinator and parts cage attendant through email and in person.
• Navigate parts location in parts cage for in stock parts and charge parts out to equipment number.
• Monitor and repair all inbound & outbound sugar path equipment and perform summer maintenance.
• Respond to radio calls for mechanical repairs while prioritizing importance and reporting any downtime to supervisor or foreman.
