Job summary

PurposeEnergy LLC is seeking a full-time Industrial Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repair of equipment at our Minster, Ohio facility. The ideal candidate will understand boilers, pumps, electrical controls and will coordinate with plant operators, vendors, and managers.

Key duties include maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, piping, controls, heat exchangers, and biogas generators; performing welding and fabrication; and using the CMMS for logging work and scheduling.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant construction and/or industrial maintenance.
• Knowledge of how processes and equipment are integrated.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Troubleshoot problems with electrical and mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, PIDs, manuals.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Able to work with plant operators, vendors, and managers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and perform work on pumps, motors, gearboxes, piping, racks and supports.
• Repair controls, panels, wiring, heat exchangers, CIP flushing.
• Maintain biogas generator, oil and filter changes.
• Repaint equipment and fabricate repairs using welding and cutting.
• Fill in as plant operator when necessary.
• Log and schedule work in CMMS.
• Support permit requirements and safety initiatives.

Job description

We are seeking a full-time Industrial Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repair of equipment at our facility in Minster, Ohio.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of the operation and maintenance of boilers, pumps, and electrical controls involved in the operation of wastewater plants. The Industrial Mechanic must be able to collaborate and communicate with various people including plant operators, outside vendors, and managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and perform work on plant and equipment including:

  • Pumps, motors, gearboxes, piping, racks and supports.

  • Controls, instruments, control panels and low-voltage wiring.

  • Heat exchangers, glycol loops, CIP flushing.

  • Biogas fueled 300-1,000kw generator, oil changes, filter changes, lash valves, fluid checks.

  • Repaint equipment and interior and exterior surfaces; operate manual and power tools.

  • Fabricate and make repairs using welding and cutting on various metals.

• Fill in as a plant operator when necessary.

• Log and schedule all work in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

• Contribute to team effort maintaining permit requirements as needed and assisting wherever necessary.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years of relevant construction and/or industrial maintenance.

• Higher level of mechanical aptitude, knowledge of how processes and equipment are integrated.

• Valid driver’s license required.

• Troubleshoot problems associated with equipment, electrical and mechanical.

• Knowledge of pipefitting, welding, and elementary mechanics.

• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.

• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, PIDs, maintenance manuals and manager directives.

• Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and to make required repairs.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

• Skill in the use of tools and equipment required by the work.

• Basic computer skills including email, PDF’s, O&M document downloading, datalogging & timesheets.

• Familiar with PLC’s, instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, pH) and electrical/troubleshooting, preferred.

• Welding, fabricating, fitting, and rigging, preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• $30 - $38 / hr. depending on relevant experience

Physical Requirements:

• Indoors and outdoors throughout the year, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 75 lbs., working overhead, on the ground, on ladders, on tanks, in pits.Similar to industrial construction tasks.

• Employee should have their own basic hand and cordless work tools. Company will provide larger and/or specific tools and PPE.

• Preemployment mobility performance evaluation exam required.
