Job description

Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader and pioneer in the manufacturing of concrete masonry and landscaping products. Permacon is a division of Oldcastle APG and operates 9 plants in Ontario and Quebec.

Position: Industrial Mechanician

Location: Metcalfe facility, Southern Ottawa

We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanician to fill a position at our Metcalfe facility. The candidate must be available to work on day shifts during the week or weekend, as required.

The incumbent will be primarily responsible for ensuring the reliability and proper functioning of machines, equipment, and systems.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, programming, and leading preventative maintenance on mechanical components. The role also involves parts inventory management, leading mechanical shutdowns, reporting, record keeping, housekeeping, and safety improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics
  • Electric competency
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in an industrial environment
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
  • Machining experience
  • Ability to arc/TIG weld
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and parts
  • Experience with hand tools
