Job summary

Nylon Corporation of America (NYCOA) in Manchester, New Hampshire, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 - 3 years of experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right entry-level candidate.
• Able to withstand standing and reaching with bending, squatting, walking; kneeling and climbing.
• Lift 55 pounds; frequently lift and carry 25 pounds; work on ladders and staging.
• Work with minimal supervision; be a team player.
• Must wear PPE and a respirator without restriction.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment including engines, motors, pumps, vessels, tanks and conveyors.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Follow diagrams and manufacturer specifications; observe Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Dismantle equipment to access defective parts using hoists and tools.
• Inspect parts for changes in dimensions with calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Adjust control instruments with hand tools and levels.
• Repair/replace defective parts and install functional/structural parts.
• Maintain equipment by lubrication, cleaning, and PMs; assist in electrical repairs as needed.

Job description

Nylon Corporation of America (NYCOA) seeks a highly motivated Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to join their team in Manchester, New Hampshire. The Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technician will repair and maintain machinery and equipment to ensure continued operations of the plant and the ongoing success of the facility.

Successful candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment and possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. We are willing to train the right entry level candidate!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as engines, motors, pumps, vessels and tanks and their respective components, and conveyor systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Follow directions in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, including proper Lockout / Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
• Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts and devices in control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Repair and replace defective parts and install special functional and structural parts in equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Maintain functionality of equipment by lubricating, cleaning, and performing PM’s for machinery.
• Assist in the repair of electrical equipment as needed with qualified electricians.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:

NYCOA puts great value in their Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technician position by offering a starting wage of $24.79 - $29.94 per hour, with the opportunity for overtime. This is a represented position.

SCHEDULE:

This is a full time, day shift position working Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 - 3 years of experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right entry-level candidate.
• Able to withstand constant standing and reaching along with continuous bending, squatting, and walking, as well as frequent kneeling, climbing, sitting, and use of fine motor skills.
• Able to lift 55 pounds, frequently lift and carry 25 pounds, and work on ladders, staging, and other related equipment.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, work well with others, and be a team player.
• Must be able to wear proper PPE and a respirator without restriction.
