Job summary

Magnit is seeking a Measurement Systems Software Engineer in Corning, NY (on-site) for a 1-year assignment with potential extension. The role focuses on designing, developing, integrating, and deploying software for industrial measurement and inspection systems, emphasizing C#/.NET, imaging hardware, and production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software in C#/.NET for production use.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting distributed, multi-process, or integrated systems.
• Familiarity with publish/subscribe architectures or message queues.
• Experience with source control and build/release workflows (Git, GitLab, etc).
• Experience deploying software in development or manufacturing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for industrial measurement and machine vision systems, primarily using C#/.NET.
• Support software communication and data handling across distributed applications.
• Assist in software build, release, deployment, and system integration activities.
• Evaluate and apply AI-assisted coding tools to improve workflows and productivity.
• Define best practices for AI development tools in engineering activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for software and support.
• Train staff on use and maintenance of deployed systems.
• Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting of software and systems.
