The Industrial Manufacturing Engineer is a hands-on technical contributor responsible for translating customer requirements and engineering designs into production-ready manufacturing processes. Working across Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality, this individual will support new and revised products from initial design and manufacturability review through production programming and release.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, setup documentation, work instructions, and related production information.
- Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, manufacturing allowances, material behavior, and design-for-manufacturability principles when preparing parts for production.
- Create, modify, and maintain CNC programs and nesting plans for sheet-metal fabrication equipment, including turret presses, laser cutting equipment, and other applicable machinery.
- Transfer CAD and model information into programming and nesting software while considering equipment capability, material utilization, part quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop and maintain bills of material, manufacturing routings, work-center information, labor standards, and related production data within Epicor/Kinetic.
- Support new and revised products from engineering requirements through production readiness, including modeling, process planning, programming, documentation, and first-run support.
- Partner with Project Management, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve issues that could affect production readiness, product conformity, or customer delivery.
- Train operators and other team members on new or revised programs, processes, manufacturing documentation, and control methods as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering, process-development, or closely related technical experience is preferred.
- Direct experience in sheet-metal fabrication or CNC metal-manufacturing is preferred, with practical understanding of processes such as laser cutting, turret punching, press-brake forming, welding, tooling, material behavior, and fabrication.
- Strong working experience with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD/modeling software.
- Working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, manufacturing allowances, and design-for-manufacturability principles.
- Hands-on experience creating or modifying CNC programs and nesting plans for manufacturing equipment.
- Experience transferring CAD/model information into applicable programming and nesting software.
- Experience creating and maintaining bills of material, routings, work-center operations, or comparable manufacturing data within an ERP/MRP system.
