DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Summary:
The PM Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs on production equipment and facility support systems. This position helps improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, maintain a safe work environment, and support daily production goals.
Key Performance Expectations
PM completion percentage and on-time work-order completion.
Quality and accuracy of CMMS documentation.
Number of potential failures identified before breakdown.
Compliance with LOTO, PPE, and plant safety requirements.
Reduction in repeat failures and emergency repairs.
Good communication with production and maintenance teams.
Proper housekeeping, tool control, and parts usage.
Manufacturing Example
PM Tech may inspect motors, lubricate bearings, check gearbox oil level, verify heater bands and thermocouples, inspect pneumatic cylinders and air leaks, confirm guards and emergency stops function correctly, tighten electrical connections as permitted, and document any worn belts, leaking fittings, or abnormal vibration for planned repair. These activities align with the standard PM focus on inspection, servicing, early fault detection, documentation, and safety compliance.
