Job summary

Racine Water Utility seeks a maintenance technician to perform general upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds. Responsibilities include servicing pumps, HVAC, and plumbing, along with preventative maintenance and safety adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age.
• At least 2 years mechanical experience with pumps, compressors, blowers, or engines.
• ASOPE and City of Racine Facilities Engineer license due within 1 year of hire.
• Valid state-issued motor vehicle operator’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair pumps, pipes, gauges, meters, valves and plumbing.
• Inspect and repair HVAC systems and related components.
• Dismantle machinery to access defective parts and repair/replace.
• Keep maintenance records and follow safety procedures.
• Perform grounds maintenance including snowplowing and lawn care.
• Assist electrician with electrical equipment maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with departments.
