Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep our Oakwood facility clean, safe, and fully functional. You will perform daily repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs to production machinery, ensuring safety features operate correctly.

The role requires reading schematics and drawings, welding and fabrication skills, hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge, and strong teamwork abilities. 1st shift; on-site with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Prefer hands-on experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Must work on-site and be a self-starter able to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities and assets in a cost-effective manner with necessary repairs.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks based on project importance and safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including servos, limit switches, PLCs, sensors, motors.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all production machinery to minimize downtime.
• Inspect and repair conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Document maintenance activities and keep accurate service records.
• Maintain inventory of critical spare parts to ensure continuous operation.
• Adhere to safety requirements and report any defects or safety issues promptly.
