Job summary

Sazerac Company in Medon, Tennessee is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain cooperage equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and assist operators with breakdowns and new installations.

You will read electrical schematics, follow NEC, conduct safety inspections, and document maintenance activities while adhering to plant safety protocols; 5+ years required, associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of prior maintenance work experience.
• Able to read electric schematics and have knowledge of the National Electric Code.
• Knowledge of machine safety inspections and adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, PLCs, and VFDs.
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain conduit wiring, motors and electrical equipment on 240-volt, 3‑phase and 440-volt systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with machinery, utilizing mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Conduct machine safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Job Description / Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the cooperage equipment; this includes completing preventative maintenance tasks, assisting the operators with breakdowns and new installations as necessary.

What You’ll Do

• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and variable frequency drives (VFD)
• Ability to install, troubleshoot and maintain conduit wire, motors and electrical equipment on 240-volt, 3 phase and 440-volt systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with machinery, utilizing your strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Conduct machine safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment

Schedule

Monday through Thursday; 5:00pm-3:30am

Starting pay

$24.36 - $36.55/hour based on experience + shift differential

Qualifications / Requirements

• 5+ years of prior Maintenance work experience required
• Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair machinery issues
• Must be able to read electric schematics and have knowledge of the National Electric Code
• Knowledge of machine safety inspections and adherence to safety regulations

Preferred

• Associate's or technical degree
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
