Job summary

Biewer Lumber, LLC is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to service and repair production equipment across the facility, ensuring efficiency and safety. The role requires reading blueprints and manuals, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with the electrical team to address equipment issues.

The ideal candidate will have lumber/industrial maintenance experience, basic hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical knowledge, and the ability to safely operate forklifts and shop tools.

Qualifications

• Previous lumber industry or industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions; write routine reports.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, arc welding and electrical principles.
• Ability to safely operate forklift, scissor lift, and manual lift.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Mathematical skills for basic calculations.
• Reasoning to apply common sense to instructions and problems.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and modify production equipment per manuals and schematics.
• Clean, lubricate, and dispose of defective parts; perform routine maintenance.
• Locate issues by observing machinery in operation and test repairs.
• Calibrate and align equipment; troubleshoot motors, gearboxes, drives, and belts.
• Maintain inventory of parts and order supplies.
• Train production staff on routine preventive maintenance.
• Prepare maintenance reports and summarize data and trends.
• Follow safety rules and OSHA regulations; communicate equipment issues to the electrical team.
• Operate shop tools (lathe, drill press, grinder) safely.
• Update scheduling systems and request work orders for maintenance activities.
