Job summary

Louisiana Association for the Blind (LAB) is seeking a Maintenance Tech to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test production machinery. You will perform preventive and emergency maintenance, calibrate and modify equipment, and work closely with production teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read work instructions, manuals and safety procedures.
• Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills; able to diagnose and repair production equipment.
• Must possess basic hand tools and be able to use a socket set, wrenches and screwdrivers.
• Able to lift at least 35 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on production machinery.
• Set up, adjust and maintain all machines for production.
• Repair, modify, adjust and calibrate equipment to restore proper operation.
• Test equipment after repairs and document performance.
• Work with production teams to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe maintenance area and tool crib.
• Maintain maintenance records and replacement parts inventory.
• Read and follow customer specifications and quality requirements.
