Job summary

Minerals Technologies Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in USA | Canaan, CT to maintain and repair plant equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and lead major repair projects to ensure continuous production.

You will read manuals, blueprints, and drawings, diagnose issues, and perform welding, rigging, lubrication, and hydraulic/pneumatic work while coordinating with the maintenance team. Strong mechanical skills and experience in an industrial setting are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Formal trade training preferred.
• Experience in an industrial environment with equipment including conveyors, bearings, pumps, and mobile equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints; read manuals and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of plant equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure continuous operation.
• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Perform welding, rigging, lubrication, and work on power transmission equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics.
• Lead major repair projects and coordinate with maintenance team to minimize downtime.
• Fill in for group leader or supervisor when needed; use company systems to sign out parts and track labor.
