Job summary

TDP Bakery in Charlotte is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to keep bakery production equipment and facility systems running safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems, and support GMP and food safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, an associate degree in a related field, and the ability to read schematics and manuals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and automated systems.
• Knowledge of industrial controls, sensors, motors, conveyors and facility support systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, equipment repair, documentation and CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on bakery production equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues to reduce downtime.
• Respond to breakdowns and complete work orders in the CMMS.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and diagrams.
• Follow safety, LOTO, PPE, GMP and food safety requirements.
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts or obtain certification as needed.
• Collaborate with production, sanitation and safety teams to align maintenance priorities.

Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 4:00 AM–12:00 PM; Saturday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM; 40 hours per week

Starting Pay: $27.00 per hour to start, with growth opportunity based on demonstrated traction and performance.

Role Summary: The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, facility systems, and related machinery in a fast-paced bakery manufacturing environment. This role supports preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment uptime, safety, GMP compliance, and daily production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on bakery production equipment, facility systems, and related machinery.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment issues to reduce downtime.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and complete work orders through the maintenance management system.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment documentation.
• Follow all safety, LOTO, PPE, GMP, and food safety requirements.
• Operate or obtain certification to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other powered industrial equipment as needed.
• Partner with production, sanitation, and safety teams to support maintenance priorities and production goals.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Prefer an Associate Degree in Industrial Electronics, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production systems.
• Knowledge of industrial controls, sensors, motors, conveyors, production equipment, and facility support systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, equipment repair, documentation, and work order systems.
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and safety mindset.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and reach overhead as needed.
• Ability to use tools and equipment safely and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing bakery environment with exposure to machinery, noise, temperature variation, and moving equipment.
• Regular standing, walking, and time on the production floor are required.
