Job summary

Gibraltar Industries is seeking a maintenance professional to sustain and repair production and facility equipment. You will service electrical control circuits and PLC, weld simple fixtures, and manage PM programs. The role requires activity on safety procedures, coordinating with teams, and improving processes daily.

Expect to handle HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical tasks, and forklift-related maintenance while organizing parts and maintaining a clean shop environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Electrician License or Journeyman Electrician preferred.
• Pass an electrical assessment to verify skill level.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience focused on repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Operate and repair forklifts, man-lifts and scissor lifts; install and troubleshoot PLCs and control circuitry.
• Read electrical and mechanical blueprints; understand HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc.
• Maintain a good work record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production equipment (presses, saws, tools, fixtures, etc.).
• Maintain and repair facility equipment (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, etc.).
• Design and weld simple fixtures and templates and other welding tasks.
• Maintain and repair safety equipment (fire extinguishers, light curtains, safety guards, etc.).
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment; install and maintain electrical control circuits and PLC.
• Analyze problems and develop solutions; maintain the PM program.
• Perform general maintenance tasks (change light bulbs, move furniture, paint, etc.).
• Organize and maintain maintenance area; organize parts and stock supplies.
• Clean up shop daily; follow all safety procedures and guidelines; attend safety meetings and training.
• Promote safety; report injuries; cooperate with coworkers; build productive relationships with other teams.
• Help coworkers learn their job; participate in problem solving; suggest continual improvement ideas.
• Keep area clean and uncluttered; manage component parts, handling use, scrap, rework, storage and care.
