Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across bakery operations. The role requires mechanical aptitude, adaptability to rotate through areas, and ongoing training to meet evolving tech standards.

Responsibilities include safe work practices, lubrication, preventive maintenance, and component replacement. Proficiency with SAP and adherence to regulatory safety programs are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification a plus.
• 1+ years of technician experience in maintenance or related field.
• Experience with HVAC, welding, electrical, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to read schematics and perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work habits, proper tool usage and general shop practices.
• Perform lubrication and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Identify wear, troubleshoot and replace drive and conveyor components.
• Use SAP for parts checkout, reporting, and data entry.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and follow company policies.
• Support maintenance across bakery areas as assigned by management.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with standard maintenance tasks and equipment inspections.
• Obtain or maintain licenses for boilers, refrigeration, and related equipment.

Industrial Maintenance Technicians ensure optimal efficiency is achieved by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, with safety and quality standards being a top priority. They must possess a technical mindset and demonstrate strong mechanical capabilities, while being flexible and adaptable as they will be required to rotate job assignments throughout various areas of the bakery. Industrial Maintenance Technicians must have the aptitude and drive to seek and acquire on-going training due to ever evolving technological improvements and performance standards.

Role requires the ability to climb fixed and portable ladders to a height of twenty feet, the ability to stoop and bend while lifting weights up to fifty pounds, and the ability to climb onto and crawl under machinery as required.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work habits, proper tool selection and usage, general shop practices, maintenance tasks, and general knowledge of support equipment
• Perform proper component lubrication and conduct preventive maintenance on specific equipment
• Identify mechanical wear and identify, troubleshoot, and replace mechanical drive and conveyor components
• Use SAP software for parts checkout, reporting, and general data entry
• Practice learned knowledge of environmental and maintenance programs
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
• Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
• Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures
• Possess or attain licenses required by their respective municipal, county/ward or state regulatory agencies to work with boilers, refrigeration components and various other job-related equipment

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a technician.
• Experience in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, welding, electrical, industrial equipment, automotive repairs, or related field

• High school diploma or equivalent, Technical/Trade School certification or diploma a plus
