Job summary

Major Tool & Machine (MTM) in Indianapolis, Indiana seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment, performing preventive maintenance on machine tools, HVAC, and power systems, and supporting other departments with technical guidance.

The role includes establishing repair schedules, maintaining safe work areas, and ensuring equipment meets specifications. Training and mentoring fellow staff may be required during operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment including machine tools, fork trucks, vehicles, air compressors, plant air systems and the HVAC system.
• Perform repairs to minor equipment such as hand tools, positioners, pendants, welders, etc.
• Perform electrical and/or mechanical diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment including assessing machine failures and implementing improvements.
• Maintain proper inventory and supply levels for routine maintenance programs.
• Establish schedules and scope of work based on the shop work order system.
• Provide guidance and training to maintenance staff and other departments as needed.

Education

2-year trade school or 2 years college credit or 4-year company apprenticeship or 10 years proven trade experience
