Job Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, new equipment installation, and repairs of electrical and mechanical components, buildings, and systems at the Pyrotek facility. The goal is to ensure machinery and systems are operational, minimizing downtime and disruptions.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  • Maintain safe and efficient plant operations by cleaning, lubricating, calibrating, and troubleshooting equipment, including PLCs and combustion systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and diagnose issues to resolve equipment problems promptly.
  • Perform general repairs including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, and lead equipment installations and modifications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and suggest process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes related to electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED plus six years of maintenance experience with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics, or equivalent education and experience. Prior experience with mechanical maintenance, PLCs, combustion systems, furnaces, or kilns is preferred. Valid driver's license required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Mechanical/Technical Skills: Ability to read drawings, manuals, and perform maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment. Forklift certification is obtainable.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy, ability to use CMMS, barcode scanners, and perform computerized transactions.
  • Core Business Skills: Problem identification and urgent reporting, proficiency in mechanical math.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work outside normal hours as needed.
Physical/Sensory Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, reach, lift up to 25 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.

Working Environment

Primarily in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, moving parts, fumes, and outdoor conditions. PPE is required.
