Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of facilities, powered industrial equipment, and stationery equipment. The technician collaborates with production to ensure equipment readiness.
Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities:
- Focus on repairing and maintaining high-pressure pasteurization equipment (80% of the job).
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical components such as controls, sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
- Repair and troubleshoot large-scale industrial equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components like motors, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace pneumatic equipment including hydronic and hydraulic seals, high-pressure components, air compressors, pumps, hoses, and cylinders.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections on plant equipment such as conveyors, water heaters, HVAC, water pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, fans, and powered industrial equipment.
- Adhere to the facility’s document control policy after training.
- Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Handle minor tasks related to the duties of the position.
Additional Responsibilities:
- On-call availability as needed.
- Provide report information to leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Welding experience is preferred but not required.
- Flexibility with work schedule and duties when environment changes.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Effective communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Prioritize and perform responsibilities accurately and on time.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems (480/120/24 volts).
- HPP maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
Demands and Working Conditions:
- Work within manufacturing, warehousing, and production facilities; must withstand cold temperatures.
- Heavy physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring safety precautions.
- Potential exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, odors, and loud noises.
