Job summary

Farmer Focus is seeking a maintenance-focused technician to perform daily tasks and special projects in our processing plant. You will repair, install, and adjust machinery, disassemble and reassemble equipment, and ensure areas are clean and safe.

How this role will be impactful

Responsible for performing daily maintenance tasks and special projects. Repairs, installs, and adjusts machinery and equipment, performing parts replacement, routine and preventative maintenance. Perform routine preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth business and production operations. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment. Ability to work in all departments in the processing plant environment, which includes cold, damp conditions. Clean, lubricate and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Provide a means of notification/communication during non-working hours for emergencies. Respond to emergency call-ins within 30 minutes. Ensure shop and surrounding areas are kept clean by the removal of all debris in work areas, work benches and break rooms. Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating unsafe acts or conditions. Be proficient in cutting and welding, hydraulics, filter systems, pipe fitting/plumbing, operations of shop equipment, sheet metal fabrication and pneumatics, electrical wiring and motors. Perform other responsibilities, as needed, to support Farmer Focus business objectives.

Work Environment: Required to access the poultry production environment. Must be able to tolerate the varying heat, wet, and chill of the plant. Hearing and eye protective equipment required in the production area. Required to wear hair and beard nets in the production area.
