Job summary

Techo-Bloc is seeking an industrial maintenance technician (electro-mechanic) in Pen Argyl, PA, for a night shift role from Tuesday to Friday. The technician will handle electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs in a fast-paced environment. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in electromechanics with specific skills in welding and fabrication.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in Electromechanics or Industrial Maintenance.
  • Proficient with power tools and measuring devices.
  • Experience with 480vAC and PLCs.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components.

Pay: $35-$40/hr + $2/hr shift differential

Shift: Tuesday - Friday - 5:30pm-5:30am

Location: Pen Argyl, PA

_ Position:_

Techo Bloc is on the hunt for their next industrial maintenance technician (electro-mechanic). Our technicians are highly proficient in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and welding.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Here is a snapshot of your day-to-day:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, gear boxes, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and screws.
  • Repair/troubleshoot hydraulic cylinders, valves, solenoids and pumps
  • Identify and make hydraulic hoses as needed
  • Advanced welding and fabrication skills. Must perform welding in various positions, locations and weld various types of joints
  • Ability to properly operate band saws, torch, drill presses, grinders and other shop tools
  • Performs installation of new equipment. Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Troubleshoot using electrical schematics and multimeter/megger to diagnose electrical issues
  • Properly size components and cabling for new electrical systems
  • Reads and understands wiring diagrams to trace electrical circuits; IO’s, OL’s, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical components
  • Familiar with troubleshooting/set up of VFD drives; SEW drives, Siemen, Lenze, Allen Bradley, AB
  • Familiar with interference fits and bearing heaters
  • Start or jog equipment to perform maintenance tasks
  • Test malfunctioning machinery, identify parts needed and complete repairs
  • Repair, install and dismantle machinery and equipment according to plans which involves working at heights, climbing ladders and using mobile equipment (cranes, forklift, scissor lift, etc.).
  • Document and perform all preventative maintenance tasks as required to maintain equipment dependability.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

_ Required Skills/Abilities:_

  • 2 + years’ experience working in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance or relevant field.
  • Proficient with use of power tools, measuring devices, lathe and/or milling machinery
  • Previous experience using bearing heaters, interference fits, and/or removing gear boxes or seized bearings/shafts
  • Previous experience with stick and MIG welding.
  • Will need to fabricate projects as well as make welding repairs
  • Proficient Electrical skills
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical components; IOs, OLs, contactors, relays, break resisters and various other electrical components
  • Read and comprehend schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience with 480vAC, 120vAC, 24vDC, and 4-20mA systems
  • Able to use multi-meter, megger, and other test equipment
  • Maintain, install, troubleshoot VFDs, programmable sensors, SCADA, HMI, and PLCs.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes
  • Collaborative; Works in the spirit of partnership.

Education and Experience:

  • Electrical certificates or equivalent experience (preferred)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain stationary or move throughout the workstations; also includes the ability to ascend and descend steps and ladders; and position self in tight spaces. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk or hear.
